Pumpkin spice, autumnal toned corduroys and a long awaited reprieve from sweaty under boobs - there’s nothing like the arrival of fall!
Fall is arguably my favorite season and brings a unique sense of calm and balance - like the world is finally hitting its perfect stride. My inspiration leans clean and slightly minimalist as I’m trying to detox from all the funk and patterns of summer.
To me, there is nothing like style anchors that sit in the brown, tan and red families. These colors illicit a feeling of groundedness and centeredness, and they are the perfect way to simmer down summer's blaze!
Tan Cotton Stretch Blazer
This blazer is one of those wardrobe staples that instantly elevates your look with minimal effort. It’s an easy investment in versatility and timeless style. The structured fit offers a polished silhouette that’s sharp without being restrictive, while the stretch cotton ensures you can move through your day with ease. With a classic peak lapel and double-breasted closure, it brings a touch of sophistication that works for just about any occasion, from business meetings to a stroll in the park – albeit a sophisticated park.
Pair this modern marvel with a crisp white tee and your favorite blue jeans, and you’ve got a flawless mix of polished and casual. The structure of the jacket gives you that sharp, elevated feel, while the simplicity of the tee and jeans keeps it approachable and relaxed. It’s the perfect example of high-low styling—smart, but never trying too hard. Finish the look with white sneakers for something laid-back, or opt for a great pair of ankle boots if you want a little more edge. This outfit is your go-to for looking stylish without overthinking it—just easy, sophisticated, and ready for anything.
A Wine Story
Confession – I love fall leaves. I love seeing them raked in neat piles... and I love ruining these said neat piles by jumping in them and cackling like a petulant child. It’s no surprise in my years of ruining perfectly raked piles of leaves, I’ve also adored the fiery red leaves of fall that are somewhere between a vibrant scarlet to a deep burgundy. It’s my dream to find an outfit that could make me a human iteration of a fiery fall leaf, and with this pair of wine colored corduroys, I think I just may have done it!
These five-pocket pants are a game-changer. They blend '90s nostalgia with modern sensibility. The high waist flatters your shape while delivering that vintage vibe, while the slim tapered legs offer a sleek silhouette that pairs with everything from oversized sweaters to fitted tops. The stretchy corduroy is irresistibly soft, adding plush texture to your look. Whether you’re at brunch or out for the night, these pants elevate your style effortlessly.
To style these pants I’ve gone the route of a make shift jumpsuit by pairing it with a similar toned burgundy mock neck sweater and have a achieved a bit of monochromatic magic.
Monochromatic outfits shine because they deliver a streamlined, cohesive look - this pairing creates one long unobstructed line and the illusion of an elongated frame.
By focusing on a single color, you eliminate conflicting hues, creating cleaner lines and a simple yet sophisticated vibration. Mixing textures and shades within the same color family adds depth and interest without overwhelming the eye.
Choco Pants
When it comes to how I want to feel in my clothing in the fall season, I think lazy sophistication would be the exact vibration. I want to look pulled together and intentional without having to think about it. I may have found it in this pair of chocolatey brown pants that feel more like a pair of luxurious structured sweatpants.
Imagine slipping into soft knit fabric that has just the right amount of stretch from spandex. It feels like a dream, making you feel cozy and yet put-together. The high-rise silhouette hugs your waist, creating a flattering shape that elongates your legs and enhances your natural curves. And the tapered leg adds just the right kind of structure to this plush beauty.
For this outfit, I’ve gone the route of neutral color blocking. By combining shades like brown, black and white, you create a visually striking look that’s polished yet approachable. This technique allows you to play with different textures and shapes, adding depth to your outfit without overwhelming the senses.
Tan, Brown and Red: A Big Fall Hug
In my mind's eye I can just feel the warm hug wrapping my body as I fall into a giant pile of tan, down and red leaves... it's fall time. Take a stroll, sip your lattes, and slip into some relaxed yet sophisticated vibrations and experience the best season of the year again!
